Play Through The Boredom

This mum had to show boredom and tedium in her pose and facial expression. She needed to be doing what she needed to do with her mind elsewhere.

(I do honestly believe that much of parenting toddlers is about doing what you need to do with your mind elsewhere!)

I think that in both illustrations I have managed to depict that pose in the mum.

The watercolour illustration is fine, it is ok even though the perspective is off, the colour pallette is uninspiring, it has no lighting to speak of, its fine.

I think the digital illustration touches on a lot of the points that I missed first time round and, I feel, is a bit more successful.

There is something appealing in watercolours mum which is missing in digital.

I’m not sure what it is.

I miss that though.
