Encourage Effort

This mum is desperately trying to do the ‘supportive-parent-cooking-with-her-kids’ thing whilst clocking all the mess and trying not to be mad!

The Watercolour illustration has that element but it is confused, none of the silhouettes are defined and the details on the kitchen side are muddled.

The digital re-draw is much better and much closer to what I want to produce as an artist. There is mess, busying around, there is chaos, frustration and that ‘patience please’ expression on the adult. There is a semblance of colour and lighting. And photo reference of my actual kitchen was used so the perspective was closer to reality. There is also a sense of composition, something that has been thought out and planned.

I do like this one, less for what you can actual see on the page/screen; more for the direction I am headed and the vast difference in the before and after.
