About

 

I am a rebel in the gentlest sense of the word. I like to question, I like to push against the norm, I like to investigate and make discoveries.  I have never stopped learning, I have experienced for myself and, in doing so, I have found what works well for me. Now, along with Robbie, I can truly say ‘ I love my life.’

I am wife and mum, I am a bible bashing Jesus-freak, voluntarily not engaged in any paid employment, wannabe artist and writer, voluntary youth leader in a church, trying to live a natural, toxin-free life.

These writings share my experiences. Please take from them whatever you can.

Wife

I was 22, a newly qualified Optometrist, who returned to work from holidays to find the store had taken on a new member of staff. His name was Matt. I didn’t feel anything strongly for or against him particularly, just a general dislike of the fact that he smoked and like to go to ‘proper’ dance  clubs which were not on my radar at all. 3 months after I met him he gave up smoking. 3 months after that we were ‘in a relationship’. We married in 2002.

We have never ran out of things to talk about, to laugh about, to play, to explore, to plan, to adventure. He has walked every step with me on my journey to and with Jesus Christ.

He has shared with me the adventure that is parenthood.

 I could never have picked anyone better for me than the man that God Himself found for me - for that I am eternally grateful.

 I have 3 incredible daughters. I will not give you their biographies;                                                                                                                       

                           they can do that for themselves.

I always had Him, I have always known He was there, but I gave Him my all back in 2004.

I love the energy and the humour and the acceptance and the simple weirdness that comes from young people. I enjoy them, it's as simple as that. All options are still open to them, to go anywhere, to become themselves.

They have opinions about everything and are so passionate about the things they love. There is swagger and laughter, there is banter and silliness, there is curiosity, vulnerability and the desire to learn. I have learnt so much by just being around them.

Today, Matt and I run the youth club at Elim Church, Andover. Tomorrow is up to God.

I love to create. I love create music, stories, pictures, photo albums - whatever, I just love to create. I don't do all of them very well but I will do it anyway because of the joy I get from the fact that where there was nothing I can place 'a something' - something that is of me. After some soul searching a few years back I decided I wanted to 'do' art. I don't know what that means, exactly, but I am thoroughly enjoying the discovering and exploring that goes along with learning.

Here it is my writing. There is nothing more to say about that.

 

Natural

Synthetic chemicals seep into every part of our live from beauty products to cleaning stuffs, from tech gadgets to our food, drink and sweet treats. 

I want to try and live with as few of them as I possible can. I want to do this for me and my health but, far more importantly than me, I want to show my girls that there is always another option.

I don't want them to grow up believing that toxins and chemicals are the norm and need to be accepted as part of modern life.

Why bother?

I want to inspire my girls to question, to wonder and to discover the best option for them in all aspects of their lives.

In inspiring them I would love you to be inspired too.

Don't just settle,  _ instead go for the best - Always.
